A PARKING attendant has been deployed to a Romsey cemetery.
Developer David Wilson Homes said he will be at Woodley Cemetery car park for as long as needed to ensure construction vehicles will not take up spaces.
The news comes after a row broke out earlier this month after residents said they could not park when going to the cemetery as construction vehicles had taken up the spaces.
As previously reported, David Wilson Homes is building a new housing development on land along Braishfield Road.
Residents said their loved-ones have the right to rest in peace and mourners should not worry about finding a parking space when they go to the cemetery.
Following several complaints the council said it is set to launch a public consultation to implement parking restrictions at the site.
David Wilson Homes said to be sorry for the inconvenience and confirmed that action was going to be taken.
Now a spokesperson for the developer has said: “The parking attendant has been deployed and will be there as long as needed. Some additional alternative parking has also been made available for sub contractors on the Barratt Homes Site.”
