A FRENCH market is set to return to Romsey.

Following last year’s success, the French Food Market and a French Brocante will return to the market town on March 31.

The event will take place around the Cornmarket and the Town Hall from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Residents will have the chance to rummage through several stalls and enjoy traditional French food such as cheese, bread and crepes.

French traders will hold stalls offering an array of products which will also include vegetable, clothes and antiques.

More than 40 UK-based traders will be joining their French colleagues and will take part in the event. To mark the day Romsey retailers will be joining the fun with French themed special offers for the day. The French Food Market will be the first of a series of events in the town centre organised by Romsey Town Council for this year.

Town centre manager Mark Edgerley said: “We are fortunate to be able to bring this event back to Romsey, we know the market was much enjoyed by residents last year, the street food was very popular with many stalls selling out, so come along early and plan to stay a while, enjoy the market and the many Romsey Shops that will be open.”

Mr Edgerley said there is a limited amount of space on offer to members of the public who may wish to trade in the Flea Market. Those interested are invited to call Jackie Edwards on 07514 680872
