THE body found near a Southampton park has been identified.
Hampshire police said the body found near Riverside Park on Sunday evening is that of a 22-year-old man from Southampton.
The force said the body was found in the River Itchen.
A spokesman for Hampshire police added: "The man’s family have been informed, the death is still being treated as non-suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
Residents told the Daily Echo that part of Riverside Park was cordoned off on Sunday evening.
As previously reported, the park was also cordoned off between 1pm and 3.30pm on Sunday after a bomb was found in the water and removed.
