STUDENTS from across Hampshire took part in a technology tournament.

The Rotary young technology tournament was held at Crossfield Hall in Romsey and saw 88 students tackle a technology challenge.

The students had to produce models which would recover a hazardous waste spill with train derailment.

Students from Bitterne Park, Hamble, Mountbatten, Oasis Sholing, Regents Park, Romsey and Woodlands schools all took part.

The judging team was made up of Rotary members with engineering backgrounds.

The teams best meeting the criteria were Mountbatten team B with Bitterne Park team B as runners up for the foundation level.

At the intermediate level Bitterne Park team A were the winners with Oasis Sholing A coming second.

The teams were presented their crystal trophies by Rotary District Governor Allan Smith.
