A ROMSEY school is to mark a milestone with a special event which will bring ex-students together.

The Mountbatten School is inviting former students to a party set to be held in a marquee within the school grounds on June 28 to celebrate the school’s golden jubilee year.

Built on land owned by Earl Mountbatten of Burma, from his Broadlands estate, the school opened in September 1969.

Now a party will mark the milestone.

At the event in June there will be a hog roast with vegetarian options, bar and DJ, and a chance to meet up with old friends.

The event will take place from 7pm to 11pm and tickets cost £25.

The money raised will offset the cost of the event and any cash remaining will go towards school projects.
