HUNDREDS of residents attended the return of a popular French market in Romsey.

Residents lined the streets as the French food market and a French Broncate returned to the market town on March 31.

The event returned to the market town following its success last year.

Town Centre manager, Mark Edgerley, said that the France at Home traders, who are from Brittany were "pleased to be returning to Romsey as it was one of the highlights of their 2018 UK tour."

Guests were able to enjoy a variety of different stalls held by traders which included vegetables, clothes and antiques.

More than 40 UK based traders attended the event which represented a typical French flea market and Romsey retailers also joined in with French themed special offers.

After the event, Mark said:"Romsey’s Second French Market was well received by residents and visitors alike, a huge crowd really enjoyed the 60 or so stalls that gave a fabulous atmosphere through The Hundred and Cornmarket.

"The responses on social media were very positive and we certainly intend to repeat the event in 2020."
