A TEST Valley school have made it to the final of this year’s Rock Challenge.

Students from Wellow Primary School wowed the crowd at Southampton Guildhall after they performed at the event last month.

Now they are set to perform at the final which will take place at the end of this month across five days at Portsmouth Guildhall.

Students from Wellow Primary School are set to perform on April 24 alongside pupils from other Hampshire schools including Bitterne Manor Primary School, Cornerstone Church of England School and Valentine Primary School.

The news comes after Wellow Primary School scooped the crown in their heat at last year’s challenge and were presented with an award from Romsey and Southampton North MP Caroline Nokes.

Ahead of the competition this year a spokesperson from the school said how they had been “busy rehearsing” for the competition.

Earlier this year there was confusion surrounding whether the event was set to take place due to rumours that the event had been cancelled.

Dozens of schools from across Hampshire take part in the competition every year, investing hundreds of hours of their time, both during school and in the evenings and weekends.
