As this year’s Test Valley Business Awards entry period draws to a close, the fourth entry prize winner has been announced.

The prize was chosen by Jan Lumsden of Kutchenhaus’ new Romsey showroom, who won the awards’ third entry prize giveaway.

Picking a name from a hat, Jan pulled out Lisa Armstrong of Active Staff Ltd, Andover, who won a handmade gift donated by Porter’s Emporium.

While selecting the awards’ fourth entry prize winner, Jan was also presented with her own prize: a bottle of Veuve Cliquot from the Co-Op Distribution Centre, based in Andover.

On her entry prize and her experience of entering the awards, Jan Lumsden said: “I’m delighted to have won an entry prize as part of the Test Valley Business Awards this year, and recommend other businesses in the area enter.

“It’s a great way of showing everyone you’re proud of your business, and celebrating your achievements.”

This year’s Test Valley Business Awards takes place in September, with the deadline for nominations in May.

Until then, businesses who put their name forward are being given the chance to win an assortment of prizes throughout the entry period.

The Test Valley Business Awards, run by a steering group of volunteers and now in its 15th year, has become a well-established platform to champion business excellence.

Businesses have until May 13 to put their name forward for this year’s awards, for which there are six categories. They include: new business of the year, small business of the year, businesswoman of the year, employer of the year as well as awards for marketing excellence and innovation and technology.

Stephanie Barnett, the founder and managing director of HR and training consultancy Pure Human Resources Ltd was declared Businesswoman of the Year last year.

She said: “A year ago, I never would have believed that I’d not only be the proud owner of a Test Valley Business Award. It has certainly been a year of positive business change for us at Pure Human Resources: we have made lots of useful contacts across the local area and have gained some fabulous new clients directly as a result of the awards.”
