A NEW dance studio has opened its doors at a Romsey secondary school.
The studio officially opened at The Mountbatten School in Whitenap Lane last week.
This comes after the school had six major refurbishments since becoming an academy in 2011.
The school has also refurbished the changing rooms and rebuilt the maths and languages building.
PE teacher Natalie Harper said: “The new studio, complete with mirrored walls, provides an exciting opportunity for our students to flourish in their dance lessons in Key Stage 3 and for GCSE. The purpose-built space will enable students to have the freedom to be creative and the confidence to enhance their performance skills.
“The GCSE course includes the learning and performance of set pieces, the chance to choreograph their own work and the study and analysis of professional dances.’
