ROMSEY pupils visited a local exhibition.

Students from year five and year six at Romsey Abbey Church of England Primary School recently visited the La Sagesse Heritage exhibition which was held in The Wisdom Centre in Romsey.

The exhibition, featured a range of items from the archives of the Daughters of Wisdom covering more than a hundred years of history. The children were able to learn about the role of the Daughters of Wisdom and how the sisters helped the poor and vulnerable in the community.

Teacher, Miss Lisa O’Donohoe said “Photos and documents from archives helped the pupils learn about the role of the Daughters of Wisdom in the local area and they were especially interested to hear the story of Sister Monica when spoke to the pupils about her life in the convent from being a small child at school until today. The exhibition brought history alive for the pupils.”
