CHILDREN at a Romsey school were treated to a week in France as part of a language programme.

Year six pupils at Hampshire Collegiate Prep School, Embley Park, visited the Château de la Baudonnière in Normandy where they had the chance to experience raft building and an assault course.

The children got to experience climbing and fencing, as well as taking part in a bread making session.

Pupils also spent an evening exploring the Château’s grounds in teams, testing their French language skills in the big treasure hunt.

The group visited Brittany for a day trip, where they explored Saint Malo’s fortified walls.

Peter Meaden, Hampshire Collegiate School teacher, said: “I will forever remember this year’s Year 6 pupils for their endless energy in France, whether they were beating me in archery or or buying enormous ice-creams in St. Malo.”
