Residents of a Basingstoke care home were given a trip to the beach and didn’t have to leave the comfort of their own homes.
Ashcombe House, in Worting Road, hosted a beach themed summer fete for its residents, staff and family members on July 13.
There was a variety of activities throughout the day, including hook a duck, splat the rat, hoopla, tombola and Grand raffle to name just a few which were enjoyed by everyone who came to the event.
There was also live singing which got everyone up dancing on the decking with hits through the years.
Michelle Martin, activities coordinator at the home, said: “All the staff at Ashcombe are dedicated to making sure that the home is a hub of the local community, and this event, along with all their hard work, has definitely paid off. It was a resounding success.”
Money from the event went to the homes residents fund.
