THE weather held off for the Winchester Sea Cadets as they hosted their 2019 Royal Naval Parade.

Hosted outside of the Tri-Army Worthy Down Camp in Kings Worthy, the event drew in a large crowd, including the former cadets, parents, staff and the Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Eleanor Bell.

The CO of the Wessex District Sea Cadets was on hand, alongside sub lieutenant Colonel Baines, Master Mariners, area commander Price of the Royal Navy, and the senior staff of the Southern Area Sea Cadets.

Joanne Gallimore, unit fundraiser, said: "It was a wonderful evening where cadets showed us what they have been doing during the year.

"We had a Guard Parade, evening colours, prayers with our Chaplain, and workshops where cadets showed teamwork by getting guests to participate in their activities of first aid, kayak demonstrations, and boating demonstrations."

Cakes and raffle tickets were also sold to raise funds for further boating equipment.
