A ROMSEY man who kicked a woman in the body has narrowly avoided a prison sentence.
Jacob Allan Hughes, 21, of Fleming Avenue, admitted the assault in Andover that happened on Tuesday July 16.
Magistrates in Basingstoke jailed him for 12 months but suspended it for 12 months.
They said the offence was aggravated because Hughes was drunk and in breach of a community order. He also has a record of violent offending.
Hughes will also be electronically monitored not to visit Dene Court in Andover and is also subject to a restraining order not to contact the woman.
