The following cases were heard at Southampton Magistrates’ Court:

NATHAN ASHLEY SIMMONS, 33, of Crossley Place, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to assault by beating and found guilty of assault by beating. Sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to pay £200 compensation, £620 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

PIOTR PAWEL GURKOWSKI, 39, of St Mary Street, Southampton.Pleaded guilty to possession of a pair of wire cutters in connection with theft and stealing clothing from Timberland in Portsmouth worth £150, clothing from Superdry in Portsmouth worth £79.98, a hooded top from Fat Face in Salisbury worth £45 and jackets from Cotswold Outdoor Premises in Salisbury worth a total of £265. Given a community order including a drug rehabilitation requirement and ordered to pay an £85 victim surcharge.

STUART MICHAEL HOUSE, 30, of Merryoak Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly and breaching a suspended sentence. Fined £116 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

CHRISTIAN JAMES MERCER, 39, of Harrier Green, Holbury. Pleaded guilty to using threatening or insulting behaviour causing harassment or distress. Fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

JOHN MALCOLM WHITE, 32, of James Street, Southampton. Convicted of stealing cosmetic products worth £40 and chocolates worth £40 from Poundland in Shirley on two separate occasions. Pleaded guilty to jointly stealing meats and cheese worth £255.17 from Co-op in Southampton. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a total of £50 in compensation.

SLAWOMIR STANISLAW BERGIER, 39, of no fixed address. Pleaded guilty to damaging a conservatory door and committing an offence while under a community order. Given a community order including 160 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay a £90 victim surcharge.

PIOTR ARTHUR ZIELINSKI, 42, of Leigh Road, Eastleigh. Pleaded guilty to assault by beating. Given a community order including 60 hours of unpaid work, a restraining order, and ordered to pay £200 in compensation, £400 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

James Mervyn Moody, 30, of Harwood Close, Totton. Pleaded guilty to stealing household products worth £74.99 from The Co-Operative Retail Logistics in Southampton. Given a community order including a drug rehabilitation requirement, fined £15 and ordered to pay an £85 victim surcharge.

CHARANJIT SINGH, 25, of Waterloo Road, Southampton. Found guilty of assault by beating. Given a community order, fined £100, and ordered to pay costs of £315 and an £85 victim surcharge.

JAKE BALDACCHINO, 25, of Devon Close, Chandler’s Ford. Pleaded guilty to criminal damage and resisting arrest. Also admitted to failing to surrender to bail. Community order made for 12 months, including 80 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £700 in compensation and £85 court costs.

SEAN PETER O’CONNOR, 34, of Coxford Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to failing to provide a breath test. Disqualified from driving for 12 months. Community order made for 12 months, including 100 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £85.

STEVEN RYAN DIMMICK, 27, of Winchester Way, Totton. Pleaded guilty to drug-driving. Banned from driving for 12 months, fined £315, ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.

CHRIS SPREADBURY, 31, of Kenson Gardens, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to drink-driving. Banned from driving for 18 months, fined £385, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £31 and £85 in court costs.

BLEU ALFORD, 28, of Coxford Drove, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to damaging a fence panel. Conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay compensation of £20. Also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and court costs of £85.
