The Romsey Show is back for another year.

This year's show celebrates 100 years since they first hosted the historic show on Broadlands, Romsey.

It is one of the largest one-day country shows in the South, run by charity The Romsey Agricultural and Horse Show Society.

Alexa Morson, the secretary for the show, spoke on the 100 year celebration: "To honour this celebration, the Show Society are pleased to have The Countess Mountbatten of Burma as their 2019 President and we look forward to welcoming her to the Show next month.

"An army of volunteers make it possible for us to celebrate our 100th year on the estate and we thank all of our volunteers for their hard work."

There are a lot of events and displays planned, including a professional stunt team, a team of gundogs, showing full retrieving capabilities, as well as a parade of livestock and horses.

There are several new attractions planned for the 2019 show.

These include Tractor Ted which is perfect for children, featuring a tractor ride and a climbing wall.

Another child-friendly attraction is 'My Little Explorers', this includes children getting a hands-on experience with the environment, such as a mud kitchen and wood crafting.

You can also bring your own dog and take part in an agility course.

For animal lovers, you can go to Longdown Mobile Farm where you get the opportunity to stroke a goat or hold a chick.

Alexa added: "Each section of the Show is managed by volunteers, from the car parks and gates to the rings, trade areas and beyond.

"We are extremely grateful for the support we receive from individuals and groups including the local cadets, voluntary clubs and Romsey and Halterworth School.”

The show returns on Saturday, September 14, on Broadlands Park, Romsey.
