ASHFORD Hill bowlers Ben Osborne and Mark Williamson re-wrote their record books as they bowled out Holybourne for 15 as they looked to chase down 158-9.

At 10-0 after six overs the opening bowlers were having little joy, but three wickets in one over by Osborne started the collapse.

He went onto collected five wickets as did his opening bowling partner Mark Williamson as Ashford cruised to victory in this Hampshire League County Four clash.

Batting first, conditions were not easy for Ashford Hill, and some good bowling and fielding from Holybourne made runs hard to come by. Jaymine Patel (3-16).

The Ashford Hill batsmen resisted stubbornly against the moving ball, until Pete Ballard came in at number seven and was able to up the scoring rate with some clean hitting.

In the end 'The Hill' ended up with 158 off their 45 overs.

Once Holybourne's innings began the game was quickly turned on its' head.

Ashford Hill's opening bowlers combined well as Mark Williamson was able to find movement off the pitch while Ben Osborne was swinging the ball through the air. Holybourne managed to reach 10-0 off three overs but after that the carnage began.

Osborne took three wickets in his next over, having Dudman caught at cover by Brodie Good before Alec Hudson edged behind to keeper Matt Pedley off his very first ball.

Jaymine Patel edged the hat trick ball but unfortunately for Osborne the ball went straight down. The reprieve did not last long though as Patel was caught leg before two balls later.

Mark Williamson then joined the party with 2 of the best ball he has bowled all season.

Harry Cann was bowled by a ball that pitched outside the off stump and jagged back in, before Phil Wakefield got the reverse: a ball that pitch on middle before moving away and taking his off stump.

In the next over Osborne bowled Joe Cann with an away swinger, before Williamson took over again with a double wicket maiden.

He trapped Harry Martin plumb LBW before sending Elliot Milner's off stump cartwheeling backwards in test match style

In his final over Osborne had Pate caught at slip by Grant Good before Williamson wrapped up the win by bowling Chase Pusey.

There was much celebration and Holybourne's 15 all out is believed to be the lowest total that Ashford Hill have dismissed a side for in the Hampshire League.

Rotherwick ITW made sure of their Regional League Division One North East safety with a 74 run win over visiting Overton seconds.

Openers Paul Buckingham (71) and Jon Wheeler (32) laid the foundations as Rotherwick ITW scored 176-6 and Overton was bowled out for 102, thanks to Phil Mitchell (4-15) and Adam Cordery (4-33).
