A LARGE rescue operation was launched last night after a woman became stuck in mud.
Coastguard teams, lifeboat crews, police, paramedics and firefighters all assisted in the rescue operation, which took place last night in Weston.
According to the coastguard, the woman became stuck in mud off Weston Parade around 8pm.
She was rescued and taken to hospital.
In a social media post, by Hillhead Coastguard Rescue, the team said: "We were tasked by Solent Coastguard - Operations Centre to an incident in Southampton.
"Working with South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) NHS Foundation Trust, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and Lymington Coastguard rescue team.
"Two Coastguard rescue swimmers and a SCAS Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) paramedic deployed.
"All persons now safe. Safety cover provided by RNLI Calshot Lifeboat.
"Excellent joint services working."
