A WOMAN who admitted using a television without an appropriate licence has been fined.
Sarah Jayne Reed, 36, admitted using a colour TV licence receiving equipment to watch or record live TV programmes.
Reed was then advised she could avoid prosecution if she bought a TV licence.
But Portsmouth Magistrates' Court heard Reed failed to comply with the the offer of an out of court disposal.
Her case was brought before the magistrates last month.
She pleaded guilty to the offence of using a colour television receiver without a licence.
Reed, of Lower Brownhill Road, Southampton, was fined £40, ordered to pay costs of £80 and a victim surcharge of £30.
