A SPATE of burglaries have been reported across Southampton.

One resident has described feeling “violated and angry” after finding her front door wide open and strangers footmarks up the stairs.

Seven months pregnant and with a three-year-old toddler, she was left devastated after “a gang of five thieves” stole her laptop containing sentimental baby photos.

The Merryoak Road resident reported that a group of teens stole a handbag, loose change, a nappy bag and her child’s piggy bank some time between 1am and 7.30am on Saturday.

Wishing to remain unnamed she said: “I feel awful. The lights were on and the door open.

“My bag was missing and my little girl’s saving bank was missing.

“We feel violated. I’m pregnant and have a young child.

“The thieves had been on the stairs leading to our bedrooms and there were leaves from outside where they left footprints. I feel angry. They took my laptop with all my baby photos.”

She added: “Luckily the thieves didn’t get away with my car keys as they were hidden.

“I feel the public need to be aware of this gang and secure everything. We had a chair behind the door last night and didn’t sleep a wink.”

On the same night, a property on Bryanston Road was burgled at about 4.30am.

Thieves managed to gain entry to a home stealing a laptop, keys and car from the drive.
