POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a mini crashed into a tree leaving the driver in life-threatening condition.
The incident happened just after 9.30pm on The Avenue in Andover last night.
Hampshire Constabulary said: "We’re appealing for witnesses to a serious single vehicle collision which took place in Andover.
"Shortly after 9.30pm last night a white Mini driving along The Avenue left the carriageway and collided with a tree.
"The driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to Southampton general hospital for treatment. The passenger sustained minor injuries."
Anyone who witnessed this incident, or captured this vehicle on dashcam, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44190331216.
Witnesses on social media described hearing sirens as emergency services arrived at the scene last night.
One said the crash was "terrible" and said the fire service were struggling to get the driver out of the car.
Others passed on their wishes to those involved. One wrote: "Thoughts are with those involved."
Another added: "Hope all are ok."
