THOUSANDS of visitors flocked to the biggest community event in the Romsey annual calendar.

The Romsey Show attracted approximately 25,000 people who flocked to the Broadlands Estate, according to a show official.

From a popular dog show to penguin pies being sold in a food market, the event brought a range of activities and stalls for all ages.

The winning horse in the Eventers Team Challenge 75cm was Kate Smales with Only Fools and Horses, while the best pet donkey was Frosty, owned by Roger Harrow.

Show secretary, Alexa Morson, said: "We estimate we had about 25,000 people attend and it was our biggest turnout in five years.

"We had lots of positive feedback for the children's activities, such as the climbing wall. The Stannage Stunt team were good at getting the crowd rallied up as well."

Alexa added: "We would like to thank the volunteers as well. Without them we couldn't put the show together."
