AN ANNUAL beer festival is returning to Test Valley next month.

The third Romsey Beer Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever, with more tickets available than previous years.

Over the past two years, more than £4,000 has been raised for Romsey charities.

Organiser of the beer festival, Euan Douglas said: “We have loved seeing Romsey Beer Festival establish itself as a key event in the social calendar of Romsey.

"Hundreds of people will enjoy a great night out, and all money raised goes to support local good causes and charities which is wonderful."

The event will feature a total of 26 beers which have been produced locally - they will be backed up by four ciders and Prosecco.

Food and live music will also be on the agenda at the festival.

He added: "We spend months building up to this, and the team of Round Table volunteers are ready to make the 2019 Romsey Beer Festival the biggest and best yet."

The Mayor has given Round Table use of Crosfield Hall for free, and local brewery Flack Manor has been supporting by lending equipment and helping other breweries store beer in advance of the festival.

The Beer and Cider Festival is the first part of Romsey, Chandler’s Ford & District Round Table’s fundraising efforts for 2019.

Future events will include a Father Christmas visit.

Romsey Town Centre Manager, Mark Edgerley, said: "The Romsey Beer Festival organised by the Roundtable is always a very popular event, tickets sell out fast for an event that brings a lot of people into the Crosfield Hall, they showcase a number of local breweries demonstrating that this part of Hampshire continues its strong brewing tradition."

The beer festival takes place on the weekend of November 1 and 2, at Crosfield Hall in Romsey.
