MUSICAL superstars who revealed the tracklist for their upcoming album using a classified advert in the Echo have inspired another local talent to follow suit.

Coldplay announced its double album, Everyday Life, by taking out adverts in newspapers around the world, beginning with the Daily Echo and North Wales Daily Post.

The band’s drummer Will Champion is originally from Southampton and went to Cantell school.

But now - paying tribute to his roots - homegrown star Scott Mills is the latest person to take out an ad.

Originally from Eastleigh the BBC Radio 1 DJ has revealed his setlist for this afternoon’s show on page ten of the Echo.

Scott is best known for presenting the Eurovision song contest as well as interviewing a chain of famous faces.

The former Crestwood School pupil became the youngest commercial radio presenter when he landed a slot on Power FM at the age of 16.

Scott went on to receive an honorary award of Doctor of Arts from Southampton Solent University.

Last week Coldplay revealed the tracklist for Everyday Life’s.

It is the band’s eighth studio album and set to be released on November 22.

Their new album which is the band’s first since 2015 is separated into two parts, Sunrise and Sunset.

Since forming in 1996, Coldplay have sold more than 100 million albums.
