MEMBERS of the Romsey Cadets took a weekend trip for adventure training at the weekend.

Three cadets and two staff from 1391 Romsey Squadron Air Cadets visited the Brecon Beacons in South Wales.

The party was led by Civilian Instructor, James Bastow who as a qualified mountain leader was able to take the cadets up some challenging routes in the National Park.

The team visited the Big Pit National Coal Museum in Blaenavon followed by a low level walk to and behind the Henrhyd Falls, which was made famous in the final scene of the 2012 film The Dark Knight Rises.

The cadets also visited the sight of a crashed World War II Wellington Bomber.

Flight Lieutenant Green said: β€œIt has been a successful trip. Adventure Training is an important element of the Air Cadet experience.

"It allows cadets to challenge themselves and put knowledge into practice.”
