THIEVES smashed their way into two Hampshire businesses last night stealing jewellery, medicine and cannabis oil.

Park Pharmacy in Chandler's Ford was broken into just after midnight.

The thieves shattered doors and counters leaving glass strewn all over the floor.

It has been reported that five men, assisted by two getaway drivers stole jewellery, perfume, medicine and cannabis oil from the store in Pilgrims Close.

Chandler's Ford Village Veterinary Centre was also broken into, however, according to staff, nothing was stolen.

After a late-night clean-up operation, both businesses are open today and attempting to get back to normal.

Owner of Park Pharmacy, Mitesh Patel, said: "We have had to open. It is important. A lot of people urgently need their medication.

"I am frustrated. It is a lovely area and we don't expect this kind of thing to happen. I am upset.

"The staff have been brilliant and people from the doctors' surgery and community centre have come to help us.

"I would like to thank John from Cleveland Bay who reported the break-in to the police.

"My wife and I have been in and cleared up as much as possible and also tried our best to sort the stock out, so we will be open as usual at 8.45am for your medication and health needs.

"Please be patient whilst we serve you as there will still be some mess to sort out."

"We are now waiting for a forensics unit to come."

According to Mitesh, it is the third break-in at the pharmacy in two years.

He is urging anyone who is offered any Parklane Jewellery, Vitality CBD or perfumes they believe may have been stolen to contact the police on 101 or by calling the pharmacy on 02380263908.
