THE Basingstoke Bison have confirmed this week that young British forwards Sean Norris and Sam Talbot, will be full time members of the Herd for the rest of the season.

Both started the season on two-way deals from their parent club the Slough Jets, which meant they would play for the Bison when the Berkshire side were not in action in South One.

However, both have proved they are very much at home in the National League and this was proved last weekend both scored last week in the Bison's emphatic 8-2 victory over the Bracknell Bees.

So from now on they will just play for the Bison until the end of the season, which is sure to help their development going forward.

A delighted Bison player/coach Ashley Tait said: “We spoke to Slough in the summer about them becoming full time if things worked out. Both players have really impressed me and it gives us added depth to our offence.

"This is how player development is meant to work for young British players and is a testament to the Slough organisation.”

This weekend, both forwards will be keen to help the Bison will continue their quest to move up the table, as they face a double header encounter with the Peterborough Phantoms, in a third against fourth clash.

The first game is on Saturday night is in Basingstoke with a 6.30pm face-off, with the return in Cambridgeshire on Sunday evening which starts at 5.30pm.

The sides are level on points in the standings with 44 points each, but the Phantoms have played two more games.

Tait said: “We know the games will be close and we will have to play a full 120 minutes.”
