THE Basingstoke Buffalo were unable to dent visiting Guildford Phoenix’s perfect start to the season as they lost 7-1.
Sam Brooks scored their only goal of the contest as he beat former Arsenal football goalkeeper Petr Cech.
Josh Richards and Warren Jones picked up the assist on the goal.
This weekend, the Buffalo face Guildford again this time in Surrey and their next home game is on February 23, when Bristol will be the visitors.
Last Saturday, the under-18 Bison enjoyed a thrilling 4-3 win at Bracknell, as they came back from 3-0 to win.
The home side netted three times in the first 20 minutes.
However, William Birch started the comeback, before Sam Hemming-Maher and then Penny assisted by Jack Peacock and Oliver Bower tied the game up at 42:07.
It was left to Birch to score the game winner at 46:03 with a shorthanded strike.
