A NEW charity music concert will take place in Romsey Abbey.

Piano and clarinet lovers are invited to the Friends of Romsey Abbey Music's concert, DeNote Ensamble this weekend.

The performers are two instrumentalists from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama - Professor John Irving on the piano and Jane Booth with the clarinet.

The pair have played with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and The Academy of Ancient Music.

The concert, which will take place on March 7, is in aid of Music in the Abbey - money raised will support the Romsey Abbey choirs and their music.

It is John and Jane's first time performing in the Abbey and they will be celebrating the works of Brahms and Schubert, and the Beethoven Anniversary Year of 2020.

Tickets are £15 for reserved seating or £12 for unreserved seating, with under 18s at £5.

These are available from Romsey Visitor information Centre, online from ticket source.co.uk/musicinromsey, or on the door.
