A FOODBANK is struggling to keep up with demand amid the Coronavirus and is urging residents to help.
Romsey Foodbank is experiencing a "significant increase" of demand due to Covid-19.
Romsey Foodbank has put out an appeal asking shoppers, in the middle of this unprecedented increase in demand, to continue to contribute to the bank.
A Romsey Foodbank statement said: "Despite taking measures to ensure that food is only given to those people in genuine food poverty, and for whom there are no other practical solutions, demand has increased, and it would appear that demand is set to increase significantly further over the coming weeks.
"Although specific recommended items needed can be found on the Romsey Foodbank Website, any food would be gratefully received.
"For more information regarding how they can donate, people should email info@romsey.foodbank.org.uk."
If people want to donate, they can do so at Waitrose or Romsey Abbey or at Unit 20, Romsey Industrial Estate, SO51 0HR on a Monday or Tuesday morning.
