ROMSEY drivers are set to face further diversions today after a water main burst on an A road.
Motorists were alerted to the damaged water main at 9.17am yesterday in Greatbridge Road by Hampshire County Council (HCC).
Now Southern Water has revealed the road will remain closed in both directions between Fishlake Meadows and Old Salisbury Lane until tomorrow, due to their "usual tarmac supplier" being closed amid coronavirus fears.
A spokesperson from Southern Water said: "Our usual tarmac supplier in that area has closed operations due to the COVID-19 crisis.
"This means suppliers have to come from further afield and we apologise if this has caused any inconvenience."
As previously reported in the Romsey Advertiser, HCC said the diversion will be "via Fishlake Meadows, Cupernham Lane, Belbins and Yokesford Hill".
