AN ELDERLY Southampton man died in hospital from community-acquired pneumonia, an inquest opening heard.
Ian Arthur Parker, 79, was discovered in an unhealthy way at his Oakwood Drive home. A report read to Winchester Coroner's Court did not specify how long before his death this was.
His son Sean Parker called an ambulance and the pensioner was taken to Southampton General.
A report provided by staff who looked after him states the preliminary cause of death as community-acquired pneumonia.
It also says that Mr Parker was frail.
Area coroner Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp adjourned the full inquest to September 29 2020.
She said: "My sincere condolences to the family during this time."
