A KITE surfer who ended up “in trouble” had to be rescued by a lifeboat crew in Lymington.
Lymington Voluntary RNLI received a call from HM Coastguard at 4.25pm last Friday and rushed to assist the surfer at Tanners Lane.
The station’s Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat B-882 David Bradley was launched, and headed towards the casualty to the east of Lymington River, on a straight course for Tanners Lane.
The sea state was calm and the visibility was good, and on arrival, the crew was advised that the kite surfer was safely ashore.
The lifeboat crew is now asking anyone that is considering going out to be adequately equipped for the activity and conditions, and also ask people to take care near cliff edges.
