A NEW directory has been launched by Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC) in a bid to encourage people to shop local amid the coronavirus lockdown.
The ‘shop local’ business directory focuses on Romsey, Stockbridge and Andover where people can find food, drink and other services online, while supporting local businesses who are adapting to the pandemic.
Economic portfolio holder, cllr David Drew, said: “This is an excellent source of information to help residents find local suppliers who have adapted their businesses to enable home delivery.
"During the lockdown period, and into the recovery phase, it is vital that we all support local businesses, thereby encouraging the recovery of the local economy.”
Categories in the directory include digital services, post offices, food and drink, gifts and more.
Some of the businesses featured are Black Chalk Wine, Barton Stacey Post Office and Stores and Gambledown Farm.
Any businesses in the borough that wants to be included in the directory should email their details to econdev@testvalley.gov.uk.
The authority also has guidance and information on coronavirus, which can be accessed at www.testvalley.gov.uk/coronavirus-covid-19.
