IN THE face of lockdown, pupils at a Romsey school enjoyed what should have been Outdoor Classroom Day this week – virtually.
Children at Stroud School, Highwood Lane, got involved with the global campaign which aims to inspire and celebrate outdoor play and learning, at home and at school.
Teachers from Stroud School usually organise a special day outdoors for their class, however on Thursday pupils from Early Years through to Year 8 have been creating nature superheroes and reading in outdoor spaces.
A spokesperson from the school said: "As the coronavirus crisis continues, children around the world are spending more time indoors and in front of screens.
"Stroud pupils have been encouraged to be outside as much as possible and have shown their love of outdoor learning by embracing their gardens, reading and creating outdoor, getting involved in even more sport."

The school is also hosting a virtual open day on Wednesday, June 17 from 9am to 12pm, with socially-distant tours available where required.
