POLICE have turned to the public for help after a convenience store was broken into in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
As previously reported by the Daily Echo, thieves smashed their way into Arrow News, Windrush Road, in what was described as a “heinous act”.
Police say a group of four hooded robbers rammed a trolley holding a freezer into the doors of the store, breaking the shop's shutters between 3.30am to 4.45am.
They have since launched an appeal for witnesses after the store was burgled.
Once inside, the masked men stole money from the till and a £10,000 worth of cigarettes.
They then left the scene in a Silver Volvo that was later recovered, and is currently being forensically examined.
Officers say they are keen to speak to anyone who may have been driving through the area with dash cam footage, or any residents who may have private CCTV, or saw or heard what happened.
