A Chineham man was left "flabbergasted" when he realised he had the ability to whisk an egg while it was still in the shell.

Will Molton, 24, was joking around with one of his friends who had delivered Will a box of freshly laid eggs.

Initially they thought being able to perform the whisking task of cooking an egg before it had been cracked was impossible.

Basingstoke Gazette:

"Turns out it's not," Mr Molton told the Gazette.

"I was making a bagel with scrambled eggs when I decided to give it a try.

"I did one and couldn’t believe my eyes so I decided to video the second and it worked again.

"The eggs are from Tadley so maybe that's where the magic comes from."

Basingstoke Gazette:

The chickens that laid the eggs

The video shows the carpenter shaking the egg vigorously in one hand before cracking open the whisked product ready to be cooked.

"The shaking pre-scrambled the egg within its shell," he added.

"Maybe the chickens helped as well, for without the chicken there would be no egg.

"Initially when I told people they were shocked which soon turned into elation.

Basingstoke Gazette:

"Some are worried I may put whisk manufacturers out of business."

Asked if he plans to continue cooking eggs this way, he said it's certainly at the forefront of his mind.

"The next stage is to pre-scramble in the shell then hard boil," he added.

Basingstoke Gazette:

The end result

"But I need some time to calm down after today’s breakthrough, my dad said he almost fainted when he heard the news.

"There are further plans for my mate to pre-scramble all eggs in his house and catch out his dad."
