A WOMAN was taken to hospital today, after she was dragged into a car and assaulted.

Following the incident and a car crash, a man in his 20s from the Bulford area was arrested on suspicion of ABH, common assault, aggravated taking without consent, kidnap and possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.

At around midday, officers were called to a report of a woman being assaulted in a vehicle near to St Paul’s Roundabout in Salisbury.

It is believed a man, who was a passenger in a Nissan Micra, had dragged the woman from a white BMW and assaulted her inside his vehicle. The woman was known to the man.

The man then drove off in the BMW before crashing in Devizes Road.

Located by Wiltshire Police on Ashley Road, he was arrested.

A subsequent search of an address linked to the man found a quantity of cocaine.

Following his arrest, the man was taken to hospital as a precaution, and has since been taken to custody in Melksham for further questioning.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries.
