A CAR has been stolen from an address in North Baddesley, officers have confirmed.

Police were called to an address in Bracken Close, North Baddesley after receiving reports that a Volkswagen Golf was stolen sometime between 2.45pm on Tuesday May 26 and 7.30am on Wednesday May 27.

During the incident, a set of keys were taken from an address, which were later used to take the vehicle.

While the car was recovered shortly after the incident, officers are keen for anyone who has any information or witnessed the theft to come forward.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information following a burglary in North Baddesley in which a car was stolen.

"It took place at a house in Bracken Close, sometime between 2.45pm on Tuesday 26 May and 7.30am on Wednesday 27 May.

"A set of keys was taken from the address and used to take a grey Volkswagen Golf. The car has since been recovered.

"Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting the crime reference number 44200188129, or alternatively people can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Police have also issued some crime prevention advice to help residents take the steps to protect their vehicles.

Residents have been urged to always lock up their cars, keep their keys and valuable goods out of view, avoid parking cars in dark and secluded areas and to fit a good steering wheel, gear lever or clutch pedal security device.
