There have been 1 new coronavirus deaths recorded across all Hampshire hospitals in the past 24 hours.

It comes as England today (Tuesday) moves closer to 27,000 coronavirus-related deaths in hospitals.

Figures released by NHS England today show that amongst the new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, none were at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals.

No new deaths were recorded at Portsmouth Hospital, two were recorded at University Hospital Southampton and none at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.

A further 143 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 26,865.

Patients were aged between 36 and 100 years old. Eight of the 143 patients (aged between 48 and 91) had no known underlying health condition.
