A man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of his father.
Kyle Thomas, 26, who gave no address to the court, is accused of stabbing his father twice in the side and twice in the chest in the man’s garden in Southbourne Way, Porton.
Police were called to reports of a disorder at around 10am on Tuesday, June 2. The victim was taken to Southampton General Hospital by ambulance.
He has now been discharged.
Appearing before Basingstoke Magistrates' Court via video link from Melksham police station, Thomas entered no plea to a single charge of attempted murder.
District Judge Anthony Calloway remanded him in custody to appear before Salisbury Crown Court on July 8 for a plea and trial preparation hearing. He said: “These are very serious matters they have to go to the crown court.”
As reported, a 21-year-old woman also arrested in connection with the incident has been released with no further action.
