A lucky photographer captured the moment a deer popped its head above crops after crawling through the dirt to get the perfect picture.

Will Hall captured the beautifully symmetrical shot after seeing the deer while out walking his dog in Overton on Saturday.

Mr Hall 26, from Wincehster, even had to crawl on a dirt track, downwind as to not disturb the roe deer who was nestled in the undergrowth.

He said "I was walking the dog and spotted what I thought was a tree stump. I got my camera out, which has a decent zoom, and had a better look.

"It was actually the antlers of a roebuck. So I doubled back and went into the field.

"Using the tram tracks, I crawled closer to the buck. I even used the sound of a passing train to cover my movements.

"All the time making sure I was downwind. I got to about 20m away and then snapped the image."
