A NEW interactive map showing the number of coronavirus-related deaths across the UK, including Romsey, has been released.

The map, created by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reveals the number of deaths between March 1 and May 31 where COVID-19 was mentioned as a cause on the death certificate in every postcode area in England and Wales.

Before the map was launched last week, figures were broken down by local authorities, such as Test Valley Borough Council.

As shown on the map, here's how many deaths were recorded in the three-month period, where and when they occurred:

  • Romsey Town - 10 (March 1; April 6; May 3)
  • Romsey Cupernham and Halterworth - 8 (March 1; April 5; May 2)
  • Abbotswood and West Wellow - 3 (March 0; April 2; May 1)
  • North Baddesley and Braishfield - 19 (March 1; April 7; May 11)
