SIR: Winchester is bustling once more, and a joy to behold. The first Saturday (June 20) where crowds of people energised the city since lockdown. A busy High Street, the parks and outside the Cathedral where folk were enjoying the sunshine (and observing the social distancing).
The market; now moved to the car-park provide plenty of space, but was not overly busy. More large signs and directions from the High Street and elsewhere are needed.
When the stalls were in the High Street, they were exceptionally busy. The stallholders are friendly and optimistic. This is a splendid opportunity to attract more visitors. Better a thriving market than a car park!
