Here’s our top five things to do in Hampshire this weekend that don’t involve joining the swarms of punters heading out to the local boozers.

Paddle Boarding, The New Forest Paddle Sports Company 

You no longer need to miss the feeling of getting out on the water and gliding across the Solent now that the New Forest Paddle Sports Company in Milton-on-Sea is back open.

Having closed during lockdown the company has now reopened offering a range of water sports hire and activities for everyone from beginners to professionals.

Following covid-19 regulations the company is running at a reduced capacity to follow social distancing guidelines and thorough cleaning practices are in place.

Paultons Park

The home of Peppa Pig World, Paultons Park, opens its gates once more on Saturday, July 4.

Located just off the M27 outside of Romsey, Paultons Park is easily accessible and offers a variety of activities and rides to keep the youngsters entertained.

All tickets must be pre-booked and a range of deals, including kids under 1m go free, can be found online. including kids under 1m go free.

Go Ape

If you’ve been missing adrenaline and adventure during lockdown, look no further than Go Ape this weekend.

Located at Itchen Valley Country Park, Go Ape is an outdoor activity day for families with children over the age of 10. Prices start at £26 for a full-on day of adventure.

To follow Covid-19 protocol Go Ape follows strict social distancing guidelines and has ensured extra hand washing facilities are available.

Team Sport Indoor Go Karting

Thrill seekers, competitive crusaders unite as Team Sport, Eastleigh, reopens this weekend.

Following government guidelines has been key to the businesses phased reopening with measures including one spectator per driver and limited team sizes for an initial period of time.

The public are asked to pre-book in advance where possible and bring and wear face masks / coverings.

Made by Me Crafts

Family-friendly fun is back on the cards now that the Made by Me Crafts is open again in Gosport from Saturday, July 4.

Throughout lockdown Made by Me Crafts have been offering a pottery delivery service. However owner, Tina Lucey, states that: “I need customers to come back in otherwise I am going to lose my business.

“The only way customers are going to come back in is if we can build their confidence by putting in measures to make them feel safe whilst they’re here.”

The studio has been refurbished and redesigned to allow for social distancing.

There has also been additional training for all of the staff to ensure the studio is safe, clean and a place where customers can relax. 

Ms Lucey continued: “I feel happy and confident about reopening this Saturday, purely because I know what measures we’ve put in place.”
