WINCHESTER Youth Counselling, a local organization offering therapy and support for young people, has received a cash donation of £5,000.
The charity was nominated for the grant by HSBC Local Hero Debbie Lockett.
A cheque was handed over to WYC trustees Nick Bell, Jill Guppy and Sian Searles last Wednesday, July 15.
The cash will boost the organization’s capacity to support more local young people, suffering anxiety, stress or depression.
Debbie won the HSBC Local Hero award in June for organising a daily delivery of hot meals for vulnerable people after lockdown started in March.
Meals were provided by catering firm Red Radish and delivered by a team of volunteers. As the winner of HSBC Local Hero, Debbie was awarded £5,000 to donate to her chosen charity.
WYC is based at The Trinity Centre in Durngate, Winchester, and can be contacted on 01962 820444.
