RELENTLESS rain in Romsey caused flooding in some parts of the market town yesterday.

Water was spotted by residents gushing from the pavement into the Fishlake stream, while cars were powering through Botley Road despite the high water level.

Now, a thunderstorm is predicted for today, which could cause delays to train services as well as power cuts, according to the Met Office.

The yellow weather warning, which covers much of England, will run from 11am until 8pm.

It comes after Storm Ellen and Storm Francis hit Romsey, which brought heavy rain and high winds to the area.
