A NEW five-star cat hotel is set to have its grand opening in a village near Romsey.

Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel Group now has 23 cat hotels in the UK, with the latest addition being opened in New Barn Farm House, Pains Hill, Lockerley.

Now, the feline-friendly facility will be officially opened on Sunday, September 20, by MP for Romsey and Southampton North, Caroline Nokes.

The new hotel boasts seven luxury suites, with each suite featuring its own climate-controlled bedroom, leading to a private garden play area.

Treating a cat to a night at the hotel's large suite will cost £18 per night or £27 for two.

Some of the other facilities at the hotel include a gourmet menu, where pets can be pampered with salmon, chicken and prawns, as well as grooming services and daily play sessions.

One of the owners of the hotel, Georgie Taylor-Darke, said: "We are so excited to start our Longcroft journey and open our fabulous new hotel.

"We have a special love for our furry feline friends and can’t wait to start meeting and getting to know our guests.

"Every guest who stays at Longcroft Romsey will be treated as an individual and we will spend time making sure their stay with us is as comfortable as possible."

She added: "Owners can go and enjoy their travels, knowing that their kitties are being taken care of in expert hands and in a home-from-home environment.

"Guests can enjoy the countryside views from the comfort of their wrought iron beds."

A spokesperson from Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel Group added, due to coronavirus "guests will be able to visit by appointment on Sunday, between 10am and 4pm", where they can take a peek at the hotel and indulge in Longcroft cupcakes and Prosecco.

They added the "first 50 guests will each receive a Longcroft goody bag".
