A French market is coming to Salisbury at the end of next week.
Salisbury City Council has teamed up with France at Home to bring a French Mini Market to Salisbury Market Place on Friday 25 September from 9am to 5pm.
The French traders, who are residents of the UK, will showcase a veritable tour de France of products for all tastes.
There will be cheeses and charcuteries from all the French regions, the new harvest of onions and garlic from Brittany, crêpes and galettes (savoury buckwheat crêpes) from Normandy and wines from the Cote d’Azur.
Other stalls will sell a selection of gifts including art prints, fragrant lavender and Marseille soap from Provence.
A trader of particular interest is Pascal Creach, the last of the "Onion Johnnies", the traders from Brittany that sold onions door to door on their bicycles.
The event will be Covid secure with social distancing measures in place, the council says.
