THIS is the aftermath of a blaze which tore through a house in Kings Worthy.
Firefighters were called to the property in Mortimer Close yesterday afternoon.
The commanding officer said that it has been severely damaged and is now uninhabitable.
When an Echo reporter visited the house this morning, there was still a strong smell of smoke.
A Hampshire County Council van and a fire engine were on site.
Most of the house's windows were smashed. Bricks, black rubble and wooden beams were all that could be seen of the interior from behind the cordon.
One female resident was at home when the fire started but no-one has been injured.
Cllr Malcolm Prince said that he saw thick black smoke coming from the area, and that the fire started at about 12pm.
